No matter the discipline you’re studying — you’re going to have to learn how to write according to the guidelines (e.g. format, vocabulary) of that given discipline. It is also important to understand the basics of how to write other formats even if you think you will never write for another field. You may be asked to read or write a paper for another discipline that you are not familiar with. If you understand the how other fields structure their papers; the information presented, will be easier for you to understand.
